Concerto for Electronic Wind Instrument (EWI) and Orchestra (2022)
for orchestra & EWI
Concerto For Electronic Wind Instrument (EWI) and Orchestra is the world’s first concerto piece for this electronic instrument. But this isn’t just another solo concerto. The EWI is finding its way into the orchestra, which isn’t always that obvious. The concerto is a story of two languages, an electronic soloist and an acoustic orchestra. Together, they are trying to find new textures, combine their colours or battle with their contrasting sounds. The composer clearly wants to show that it has become time for more orchestras to implement electronic instruments in their music. To find ‘the sound of today’.
