My Own Story (2023)

I will tell you a story
You might have heard it
It’s not one of fame or glory
I hope you’ll believe it

Once upon a time,
there lived an old man in the woods
His days were filled with writing,
he wrote an awful lot of books

The characters that he created,
some said they were quite outdated
A sunset red as dragon fire
More gold than you can desire
Birds and trees and funny creatures
A world with heroes, who’ll defeat us now?
But is this real? Is this real?

He didn’t live his own life,
but in the world he created
Abandoned by society,
forced to live in his fantasy
And one day, the stories he created
they will come true
He’s the boss of his own storyline,
He said:

My own story has a different ending
But I won’t give up, I won’t ask why
My own story, I couldn’t make it up
If no one wants to listen
Then this would be the end

This is not the end
Please, someone, he needs help
All he has left is his pencil

Writing he kept writing, right
Never give up work
Tomorrow there’s another day when you can decide
to shirk

And in his books he found something called eternity
He lived there forever in his own fantasy
Ev’ry day's a new adventure
More than you can desire
No one knew what would happen
No one understands that

My own story has a different ending
But I won’t give up, I won’t ask why
My own story, I couldn’t make it up

Then this would be the end
