This piece was a collaborative initiative between the Royal College of Music and the English National Ballet School. This creation intricately captures the various stages one experiences while drifting into slumber—the initial yawns and the gradual closing of the eyes, culminating in the realm of dreams. The deliberate use of a slow-moving melody effectively encapsulates the sense of weariness, while the interplay of strings and piano serves as a sonic manifestation of tranquillity. The composer portrays the ensuing peacefulness within this auditory landscape, symbolizing the brain's imaginative work making dreams.
